Download & Install
CatchTime is available on Windows, macOS, and Android, with a browser extension for tracking website visits.
Windows
- Download the latest .exe installer from the download page
- Run the installer and follow the setup wizard
- After installation, CatchTime will launch automatically and sit in the system tray
System Requirements:
- Windows 10 or later
- 64-bit system
macOS
- Download the latest .dmg file from the download page
- Open the DMG file and drag CatchTime into your Applications folder
- On first launch, if macOS says it cannot verify the developer, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security to allow it
System Requirements:
- macOS 12 (Monterey) or later
- Apple Silicon or Intel processor
Android
- Download the latest .apk file from the download page
- You may need to enable "Install from unknown sources" in your phone settings
- Open CatchTime after installation and grant the required permissions
System Requirements:
- Android 8.0 or later
Required Permissions:
- Usage Access — To read app usage data
- Notifications — To send reminders and daily summaries
- Overlay — To display app limit alerts (optional)
Browser Extension
The browser extension lets CatchTime track specific websites you visit, instead of just showing "Chrome" or "Edge".
Installation:
- Download the extension package from the download page
- Extract it to a local folder
- Open your browser's extension management page:
- Chrome: enter chrome://extensions in the address bar
- Edge: enter edge://extensions in the address bar
- Firefox: enter about:addons in the address bar
- Enable "Developer mode"
- Click "Load unpacked" and select the extracted folder
Once installed, the extension icon will appear in your browser toolbar. See Browser Extension for detailed usage.
Updates
CatchTime checks for updates automatically on launch. You'll be notified when a new version is available. You can also download the latest version from the website at any time.
