Device Management
Device Management gives you control over all devices logged into your CatchTime account. You can view your device list, set aliases, remotely log out unused devices, and even remotely wipe data from a device.
Viewing Logged-in Devices
In the "Devices" section of the Settings page, you can see all devices signed into your account.
Each device shows the following information:
- Device Name — The name of the device (e.g., "MacBook Pro", "Pixel 8")
- Platform — Windows, macOS, or Android
- Last Active — When the device was last used with CatchTime
- Current Device Badge — The device you're currently using is clearly marked
Device Aliases
You can set a custom alias for each device to make them easy to identify:
- Tap the edit button next to the device name
- Enter a name you prefer, such as "Work Laptop" or "Personal Phone"
- Aliases sync across all devices
Setting meaningful aliases makes it easy to distinguish between devices when viewing data, especially in the device filter on the Insights page.
Remote Logout
If you need to sign a device out (e.g., lost device or no longer in use), use the remote logout feature:
- Find the target device in the device list
- Tap the "Remote Logout" button
- Confirm the action
After remote logout:
- The device will be automatically signed out the next time it connects to the internet
- The device will no longer be able to access your account data
- Local data remains on the device
Remote Wipe
If you're concerned about data security on a device (e.g., stolen device), use the remote wipe feature:
- Find the target device in the device list
- Tap the "Remote Wipe" button
- Carefully read the warning and confirm the action
After remote wipe:
- All CatchTime local data on that device will be erased
- The device will be forcefully signed out
- Your cloud data is not affected
- Other devices are not affected
Note: Remote wipe is irreversible. The target device must connect to the internet to execute the wipe command. If the device doesn't come online within 7 days, the wipe command expires.
Login History
CatchTime records details of each new device login:
- Login time
- Device information and platform
- Login method
These records help you monitor your account's security. If you spot an unfamiliar device logged into your account, you should change your password immediately and remotely log out that device.
New Device Login Alerts
When a new device signs into your account for the first time, you'll receive a security notification:
- The notification is sent to all your logged-in devices
- It includes the new device's name and platform
- If it wasn't you, you can immediately log out that device remotely
